ReefBlitz 2017

Get involved in citizen science programs that help to understand and enhance Reef health!

ReefBlitz is an annual event that lets you contribute to a snapshot of catchment and reef health, and get involved in practical actions to help look after Queensland's reefs. Events will be held from catchment to coral along the Queensland coast.

There are 2 main ways you can get involved:

1.Sign up for an event!

More than 20 free and low cost activities from Reef citizen science cruises and beach clean-ups to mangrove surveys and Creek Watching, there are activities scheduled in locations along the Queensland coast. Check out the event calendar and register today! Keeping checking back--there are additional events being added all the time!

2. Share what you see on the Reef & Coast!

Snap, count and upload marine and coastal observations to these citizen science programs anywhere in Queensland

• Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority’s Eye on the Reef
• CoralWatch
• Project Manta
• Redmap (fish)
• Tangaroa Blue (marine debris)

From water quality monitoring, wetland restoration to reef surveys and mangrove assessments... there is a citizen science project for everyone! Activities will be led by Reef Citizen Science Alliance members, with host Conservation Volunteers Australia, and lots of awesome regional partners.
